Internet through cable. Until now, these products have been exorbitantly priced
and well out of the reach of the common man.
All Internet-related developments and improvements meanwhile are pointing in
one key direction—broadband. Once we have broadband, language will no longer be
a barrier. High bandwidth networks will allow us the luxury of video streaming
and audio, ensuring that text becomes fairly redundant.
With such an environment in place, we can certainly hope to achieve our goals of
high Internet acceptance within the Indian market. Internet access and penetration
will in turn push E-commerce, or business conducted over cyberspace.
The Internet is redefining the way we live our lives and do our business. We have
to simply open our doors to this new paradigm. All roads in fact ought to lead to
the Net. We simply cannot afford to have any half measures. Today, we require
Websites in all languages including Hindi, Gujarati, Bengali, Kannada, Tamil,
Marathi, Punjabi etc.
We now also need the Hindustani Net. The new slogan should be “Roti, kapada,
makan, bandwidth and bijli!
