Our Embassy has been associated with Nasscom and particularly
its president, Mr. Dewang Mehta for a long time now. He was a
man of vision, of inspiring enthusiasm, zeal and creativity.
His young and dynamic leadership was instrumental
in giving Nasscom a unique character. The success story of India’s
IT sector surely owes him a great deal, but he also substantially
contributed to promoting the bilateral relations between Germany
and India in this field. He had promised to meet me on his return
from CeBit in Hannover in order to present some new ideas.
His death is indeed a loss for the country as a whole.
